A new immersive theatre experience that plunges its audience into Geelong's roaring 1920s.
It’s 1924, Geelong’s high society are invited to the fundraising event of the year! The Blackwood's are honoured to have you at this exclusively spectacular evening of entertainment, grandeur, and most importantly, money. No expense has been spared; yet greed, corruption and ulterior motives bubble underneath.
An exploration of the 1920s, inspired by real historical figures of Geelong and surrounds; ROARING champions queer & female-led creators & characters.
ROARING is led by Geelong producer-and-actress, Libby Brockman in collaboration with writer Fleur Murphy and local Geelong actors and creatives. Artistically inspired by grand-scale immersive works such as The Malthouse’s ‘Because The Night’ and London’s ‘A Drowned Man’, and bolstered by the team’s 10yrs+ experience in immersive and intimate theatre productions, this is an exciting work made by and for the Geelong community.

Audience acclaim: "Wow. What an experience. An amazing show, written and performed in a way that allows you to follow different characters around the venue. The actors were brilliant and the story line was exceptional. A show that deserves to be performed for years to come." "A must see show." "A very fun and entertaining concept... incredible words by master playwright Fleur Murphy." "Warning, you'll want to go more than once." "I enjoyed every moment of ROARING! I went twice and wish I had time to go again... Highly recommend to anyone." "Fascinating concept. Trailblazer of immersive and interactive theatre." "Awesome...we loved the show. It was so good!" "Truly brilliant!" "What a delight. I've been to see many shows across the UK, America and Australia and I can honestly say that ROARING is by far one of my favourites. The immersive concept, subtle queer twist, feminist themes, and the fact that it's set in the 1920s is a variety I simply adore. I've become quite the ROARING groupie, attending a performance each week." |
